Amit Vinograd

Amit is an Assistant Professor at the Gray School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, where his research focuses on how neural circuits encode and regulate affective states. By integrating cutting-edge experimental tools with advanced computational modeling, he provided the first causal demonstration of line attractor dynamics underlying an affective state, revealing fundamental principles of neural circuit function and laying the groundwork for understanding how the brain generates internal states. Amit completed his postdoctoral fellowship in David Anderson's lab at Caltech. Beyond his research, he is deeply committed to education and outreach. He has designed and led innovative neuroscience courses, launched community engagement initiatives, and is dedicated to mentoring students.
