Bin Yu
Bin earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCSD in Komiyama's lab, where he investigated perceptual and motor learning. Trained as an engineer, he enjoys developing new behavior-tracking and monitoring systems. During his undergraduate years at the University of Washington, he designed brain–computer interface hardware, sparking his interest in neuroscience. Now in the Anderson lab at Caltech, he investigates how hypothalamic circuits generate and sustain internal states, utilizing imaging and computational modeling to capture circuit dynamics during naturalistic behavior. Bin enjoys building tools and analyzing data that push experiments further, and he's committed to mentoring and cross-disciplinary collaboration to tackle complex problems. Outside the lab, he's at an EDM show in the summer or skiing when winter arrives.
