Takumi Itakura
Postdoctoral Scholar Fellowship Trainee in Biology and Biological Engineering
Takumi received his PhD from the University of Tokyo under the supervision of Kazushige Touhara in 2022. His thesis work focused on pheromones that act on the amygdala and hypothalamus to mediate specific social behaviors. After graduation, he spent one year as a postdoc at the University of Tokyo under the co-supervision of Kazushige Touhara and Teruhiro Okuyama to further investigate the neural mechanisms of social behavior. In 2023, he joined the Anderson lab to study how sensory information shapes persistent internal emotional states. Outside of his research, he enjoys cooking and drinking (especially IPA and stout).
